Sanibel Sunglass Company is a Creative, Fresh and Fun sunglass specialty store and we are So Much More than just another Sunglass Store!

It is our goal to create a customer service oriented environment in every store that inspires the customer to protect their eyes and skin with great sunglasses, sun hats or sunscreen products. At the same time, we hope to inspire the customer to look for Sanibel Sunglass Company for their repeat and year-round purchases.

We do our best to create a shopping environment where men, women, and children will feel comfortable and relaxed.  The store concept is “Ol’ Florida”, which will allow the customer to immerse him or herself in the fresh, charming, tropical world of SSC.  The retail experience of SSC will be “felt”.  It will be real and meaningful, as well as, pleasant and fun for the customer.
Our store will please all five senses.  Most retailers usually concentrate on the visual presentation; however, sound, scent and touch will evoke strong imagery and association of the attitude, lifestyle, and outdoor environment of Sanibel Island, Florida and Living Outside.  This all-encompassing experience will create a very desirable, relaxed and fun shopping experience to compliment the superior customer service.
Of course, we also strive to offer the best sunglass brands in the world, whether they are $10 or $350.  Our goal is to offer the best product at the price range the customer is comfortable with.  We focus on life-style and sport sunglasses and we also carry a few high-fashion lines.  We train our staff so that they are able to educate and advise customers on proper fitting and the quality/value relationship of some of the higher priced brands.  We offer a variety of price points to make the customer feel at ease and not intimidated by the higher priced offerings.
We strive to identify the appropriate product choices for the individual’s needs and activities.

Kenwyn Alexander, Regional Manager

I’m Kenwyn, native to Trinidad and Tobago and currently settled in Birmingham, Alabama. Being born in the Caribbean provided an excellent foundation for life at Sanibel Sunglass Company.  The “Old Florida” style of service mirrors the values that are engrained in me as a kid growing up in the isles of the Caribbean. I believe that coconuts and the ocean are God’s greatest gifts to mankind.  I’m a lover of the outdoors, with soccer being my number one passion.   Through my experiences, I’ve come to appreciate being ready for whatever nature throws at me. I definitely wouldn’t go to a soccer game without my shin guards, just as I wouldn’t brave the outdoors without proper protection. I do believe that at Sanibel Sunglass Company we sell sun protection rather than just sunglasses.

Kenwyn oversees our Sanibel Sunglass Company stores in Birmingham, AL, Pensacola, FL, Myrtle Beach & Greenville, SC, and Hampton, VA.

Gordon Tomasch, VIP Concierge & Area Manager

I was born and raised in Connecticut and now live in beautiful, sunny Florida with my wife Nicole and 3 children, Ian, Alec and Bailey.  My love of the outdoors and working with people led me to various outside employment including being a ski instructor and coaching a junior development skiing program. Now working for Sanibel Sunglass Company, I enjoy promoting and educating people about the different lines of sunglasses we sell for their various outdoor activities.  My interests include: Biking, snow skiing, photography, spending time with my family and breathing fresh air.

Gordon oversees our corporate Sanibel Sunglass Company store as well as our anchor store in Sanibel, Florida.
